A car driven by a suspected human smuggler in Texas burst into flames after it smashed into a civilian car following a car or truck pursuit, authorities say.
The pursuit took place Monday afternoon just after agents with the Laredo South Station responded to reviews of a suspicious gray Dodge sedan northbound on U.S. Highway 83 from the Webb-Zapata county line.

The brokers found the vehicle and requested support from Customs and Border Safety Air and Marine Operations (AMO) and the Texas Department of Community Security (DPS).

DPS agents tried out to cease the Dodge but the driver failed to yield and fled the scene, according to CBP. A pursuit ensued and the automobile collided with a pickup truck off Los Del Sur, producing it to flip onto its roof, WOAI-Television set claimed. No accidents have been reporteed.
The driver of the Dodge and its occupants – who had been afterwards established to be unlawful immigrants – exited the car or truck just before it burst into flames, CBP claimed.
The driver, whose identity has not been launched, and the occupants tried using to flee the scene but were apprehended and taken into custody. Laredo Hearth Department arrived on the scene and provided professional medical aid.
CBP claimed the vehicle’s occupants were being unlawful immigrants from Mexico, Honduras, and Guatemala.
